    Hi,

I'm setting up a large tank and would like to place a rubber Matt between the steel stand and my tiled floor.

I would prefer to go rubber or similar as opposed to wood and would like advice on what to use, where I could get it from.

Weight of the tank is about 2.5 tons

Provided the rubber mat do give away equally.

I assume that your stand will not have legs? Flush on the tiles? Else if you spill water, and you will, the water will go into any gap left between mat and tiles.

Closed cell foam most likely would be the best option. 20 thickness should be OK.

Just a question. If your tiles are not 100% flat, how will you level the tank?

Thin sheets of carbon fibre is also good as it is very strong and durable, you can layer it up to level off the tank

I used a 5mm thick rubber mat under my tank siliconed lightly to tiles.water dont go under.
If i move tank for whatever reason i just scrape off silicone with blade..done it a few times before and tiles under tank looks as good as new!

@Ridwaan What type of rubber matting did you use and where did you get it from? Will it tear under 2.5 tons?
