Clowns do not actually feed anemones. They will bring food to them but more for storage than actually feeding them. They will bring food to the anemone when they are full or feeding faster then they can eat but when they are storing the food their storage facility is actually eating it:)

It will depend on the relationship the clown has with the anemone he might not even take food to the anemone at all. If you want rather feed the anemone yourself as thats what I do...good luck

nope, depends, some clowns do actively feed the anemone. Some will even ambush a cleaner shrimp and give it to the anemone. Recently somebody else mentioned on MASA how he witnessed his clown pushing in an Anthia into the anemone. So yes, some do feed them.

But hoping that the clown will do it for you, as above is expensive.

Rather feed them a lance fish (available at LFS) or piece of hake. Very small pieces, not bigger than their mounts.

like everyone said...small pieces of fish...mine like those little pink cocktail shrimps too...just never squirt/push food directly into the mouth...just dangle it around the mouth area, he will take it if he wants it...

Love the nennie in the tridacna!

Nitrate is still ok as long as ammonia and nitrite is zero. Would be good to get it down over time. Softies like a little nitrate at about 2 to 5 and sulk if they don't have any.
