Hi all,I have been using a sunsun 3000l/h flow pump to mix my saltwater in a bucket. After 2 weeks the water had a weird white residue in it and pump stoPped working. Bought another sunsun, the jvp201, used twice and exact same thing, white residue In water and now pump don't work.

Am I using the wrong type of pump to mix salt water? What going on? What pump should I be using?

Sounds like calcium carbonate residue. It usually happens if calcium is added to quickly to the water, i.e. try and mix the water slower. Add less salt at a time to mix it up properly.

Its completely harmless to livestock but as u have seen it can build up on pumps and stop them from working

    That is some handy advice!

I also stir my water/salt with a wooden spoon... But I only use 10L per weekly water change :)
