My non-reefer has asked me kindly to look for a yellow as well as a blue addition to our tank. I currently have a Bangai Cardinal, a Fire Fish and a Lawnmower Blenny. I have ordered 2 black clowns that could arrive anytime in the next 3 months. I am not in a hurry and I don't want to endanger/stress/kill anything so my two questions are

    1. Have I maxed out with these 5 fish already? (250l RSM)
    2. If not, what yellow ( and/or blue) fish can I add that is mixed reef compatible and compatible with the above fish and tank.

Yellow Tangs and Lemon Peel Angels outgrow this size tank from what I've read.

    Any ideas?

Are you saying I'm not over stocked yet? Running stock skimmer, 500ml cubes and GFH in a phosban reactor.

    Thanks for the names.

Blue gudgeons look really nice. Fairy wrasses look amazing but I have never seen any for sale.

@Gesiggie has a Yellow Clown Goby that looks really nice. Stays small, non aggressive and reef comp.

Only looked through her thread again just now.

    Yellow Midas Blennie

    or Yellow Clown Goby

And one blue yellow tail damsel. The damsel will take to a part of the rockwork and will defend it, about 30cm square. And they are a very nice blue.

Midas blennies is one of the most active & interesting fishes you can get! They definitely add character to any tank!!! @RiaanP
If i didnt have rimless tanks, it would definitely be my first fish to buy.(just remember they are great jumpers!)
Have a look at a youtube video of a midas blenny, they are cool!

You can still add a couple of fish. Just make sure you select non aggressive fish that can co-exist & i would add at least another 250ml cubes to handle the bioload. You should also always feed only as much as the fish can eat in about 1-2 minutes. This will make things easier on the gfo as well!

So you target me because i said yellow tang.. but dallasg said add a fox face and as i know it fox faces grow much bigger than a yellow tang.. a yellow tang will be perfect in a 200l system.. people with red sea max 250 tanks keep regals and yellow tangs together.. i was just giving my opinion.. not to be questioned by my opinion... not everyone knows everything..

Yellow head Jawfish are awesome too and you can add more then 1. Although they are predominantly white.

The Midas Blenny looks really cool. I like small fish with big attitude.

Really love the Yellow Tang as well. Seen quite a few in RSM 250's on forums but I worry about the long term prospects. If you say you'll move him out when his bigger, where to and when? My biggest worry is that the day I figure out his gotten too big for the tank is when he gets sick and dies. The lfs will surely take a healthy large adult YT but I 'm sure many people hold on to them too long.

Does anyone know of a YT that has lived a long and full life in 250 liters?

So I got a Midas Blenny. It's more blue and green than yellow. Awesome fish. Pretty and always out and about.

Also got a false lemon peel angel. "Less reliant on algae, smaller and hardier than a lemon peel". Downside is it's nipping my open brains, lobophylia and some of my palys so it's got to go back to the lfs.

Looking for a yellow clown goby again. Saw a citron clown goby recently. Very nice but not that striking yellow.
