hi guys any idea what this is and how I can get rid of it? I have 2 x 10w Led above that section. My skimmer outlet goes into this section with a few small micro bubbles getting released.

Looks like hair algae growing on a piece of floating calurpae. It has bubbles trapped in it from photosynthesis. Just keep taking it out the tank, it's nutrient export . I doubt you can totally eliminate it without adding a lot of flow to your sump.

I get the same red bubblely stuff on top of my macro. Almost like a foam. I just take a small fish net and scoop it of. Apparantly if you add a small wavemaker it wont happen. But i havent tried it yet

Looks like a type of floating cyanobacteria?

I agree on the cyano identification. You will get that in tanks with very low surface movement. I get that in my holding tank every now and then but just use a net to scoop it out.

it seems to be thinning out as time goes on. I think having my skimmer getting emptied into that compartment doesnt help as all the micro bubbles get caught in the caulerpa.
