    Hi Guys,

    Any idea's what this is? Started growing in my sump the last few weeks. Should I be concerned?

    It is growing like mad all over the show! Have some dead rock in my 1st compartment by my skimmer that is covered in this stuff!

    Does this Sponge just multiply on its own all over the show? Why is it only in my Sump?

    Yep... and some of them love sumps. Why? Maybe less/more flow and/or no predators...

    Hi there,

    How do they get into the system? I also changed my sump pump recently for less flow..from 3200 ltr/h to probably 1800 ltr/h. Now that I think of it thats when they probably started to grow! So they are all good then!!!

    They hitchhike on whatever you might put in the tank (LR, coral, etc.). I wouldn't decrease the flow to your sump... it's not worth it (and likely won't help much, if any). They don't do any harm (except that they might start to clog things up if they get to numerous--in which case, you can just scrape them off).
