What is this thing?

    looks like a tubeworn with the fans striped off of it.. does it retract suddenly if disturbed?

    It does retract, but it's always looked like this. It looks like an underwater bat!

    Is it some sort of snail or slug? A nudibranch? It just stays in that hole, and pokes it's head out from time to time. It's eating something in this pic. It's tan/brown. Maybe it is a tube worm. Doesn't look like the other ones in there. It doesn't seem to eat with the hairs on it's ears, it has a mouth or something on the head part.

    It's using the white bits of crushed gravel to enlarge it's hole/tube. :p

    I can't find a pic that looks like this thing, but I'm naming it 'Batman'.
