ok well for the past few days i have been noticing my lunure wrasse doing random "tumble turns". now today i noticed that one of its gills are wide open. he still eats...i think. any idea of what could be wrong? i have really grown fond of him and really dont want him to die

    thanks

mmm check if you have tray voltage in the tank.. and i second the option of him perhaps having parasites in the gills..

    BUT

what are your water parameters.. dont say fine post them..

there my be traces of nitrite and ammonia which are very serios in small amounts..

dident you recentlyredo your tank or scaping? if so it could be a mini cycle..

I think leslie meant stray voltage.
If your equipent is not properly grounded ir you have a device with some frayed wires, it could conduct that electricity in the water and effect a fishes balance. How is your othet fish?

Also, when you rescaped, you did not possibly injure the fish?

Why so high? Do you top up with salt water? What do you measure it with?

dude i top up every day..but usually have no clue what the salinity was. so i just keep the water level in the sump constant.

i seriously need an auto top up unit
