    Hi guys -

So I have a star polyp in my tank and over the last 2 weeks or so its polyps have just closed up all together.
It seems to still be growing but very few polyps open up and they also do not extend to far.
    Water parameters are optimal -
I just raised my KH to 9.5 - could this change be the reason (it was very low) - I did it slowly though.

    Im even feeding him!!

Other than that stock wise I have 2 clowns, a lawnmower blenny and 4 blue green chromis.

2 hermits, a cleaner shrimp and a couple of snails.

Any help would be much appreciated - my next question is whether it is being eaten??

You will have to post the rest of your parameters. How fast did you raise KH? From where to where
GSP probably needs some nutrients, if NO3 and PO4 is undetectible it might be too low. But if you are feeding it it should be fine.

I raised it from 6,5 to 9,5 over 2 weeks.
I started feeding the coral yesterday.

    Parameters:

    Temp 26 deg
    Salinity 1,025
    Alk 9,5
    Ammonia undetectable
    Nitrite undetectable
    Nitrate 15ppm
    Phosphate barely detectable

I have a hammer coral that is also dying - I associate this to the low KH but it is now at optimal levels. I just hope it will pull through

6.5 is not really very low for Kh, some salts will have it at 7 dkH standard.
Your parameters seem fine to me. Nitrates are high but for softies and LPS it should be okay.
Someone else might have an idea.
