What I have learnt on MASA in 8 weeks....

    1. Its true only bad things happen quickly( and they, do often)
    2. Most of the bad things that happen are our fault ( we are too impatient)
    3. Everyone listens to what Hennie has to say (with good reason)
    4. Mods and Supermods rock (thanks guys)
    5. Your local LFS will sell you almost anything you ask for (its up to us to decide)
    6. Reef keeping is a privilege and requires maturity (we are natures keepers)
    7. Viper 357 is the coolest name on MASA
    8. Reef keeping is my first addiction (MASA is like the reefkeepers AA)
    9. Reeefkeeping is more expensive than people think
    10. Reefkeeping is more expensive than our spouses or partners think
    11. We all fear power failures (I am off to get a back up power supply today)
    12. Everyone hates Aptasia
    13. MASA has an acronym for everything
    14. MASA members all stand together and support one another
    15. Trev ain't coming back....
    16. Leslie is the voice of reason in MASA, and I always like to see what he has to say.
    17. One should not spend too much time on the forum before you go to bed( you will have nightmares about power outages and stock losses)
    18. Tobes is cool and intimidating at the same time.... watch out he is looking!
    19. Research and reading is the only way to learn marines. The medical analogy of watch one, do one, kill one, just isnt good enough.
    20. Only bad things happen quickly
    21. RuanP has the weirdest Avatar pic, but is a great help and the quickest to respond.
    22. The real mariners do everything DIY
    23. Bigger is better
    24. Everyone is always thinking about the next build
    25. Marines are a way of life..... for life
    26. Marines are not easy
    27. You cannot do marines without MASA...
    28. Just because you have life on live rock, doesnt mean its good live rock.
    29. For every action their is an equal and opposite reaction. (everything you add has an impact)
    30. Keeping sea horses isnt easy....

    Just my thoughts so far, thanks everyone on the forum, for making this learning process fun.

    27) this is so true, I dont see how you could be a success without being on a forum or having a really good book. The shops are really behind or know nothing (most of them)

    26. Marines are not easy - wrong, marines are easy and logical, sadly forums and lfs's confuse the issue, learn the nitrogen cycle and understand why we need it and want to destroy it pre or post cycle

    I could not agree more... especially statement no. 17. I had the worst nightmares the past 2 nights. Dead fish - discovering an overflowing tank.... Horrific:eek::eek::eek:. (Actually woke up this morning to the mother of all Migraines). Maybe you right? Its this late nights on MASA.
    I consider myself so new to this (1 year) that every move in the tank I have to check whats been said on MASA or internet. So you can imagine, I am constantly reading.
    I have a question to the "old" Reefers.... Do you ever relax and not stress. It always seems you guys are just "enjoying" your tanks with no worries.
    Maybe its just me.

    If u keep it simple and dont fiddle, then all should go well.
    I still simulate power out every now and then to test
