What glue to use, when fraging corals?

    Hi,

    Can anyone give me a few tips how to get a frag to a piece of live rock?

    ecotech Coral Glue, just apply a slight blotch to coral and place it to piece of liverock works excelent.

    also dont forget the iodine to dip the frag afterwards!

    Does the piece of rock needs to be dry? where can I get iodine?

    rock and coral can be wet, water actually accelerates the curing time.
    iodine can be bought from the lfs or chemist

    ecotech glue. you can glue anything

    do you dilute it with RO Water? or use as is?

    dont get me wrong ecotech is amazing stuff but for the price is can buy a shitload of superglue....

    technically ecotech marine glue is super glue, just tripple distilled and thick consistency...

    I use any gel super glue I can find. The gel is easier to use.
    Normal super glue and sodium bicarb also works.

    I've used all of the following, mostly on sps:

    Super glue
    Plastic (the type u heat in boiling hot water, to form a putty)
    Aquamend putty
    Cable ties, fishing gut - cut loose when attached
    Hot glue - yes, from a glue gun

    @Rod, thanx and the iodine do you use it as is or do you dilute it with ro water?

    which ever brand the local pick and pay.
    They are all make from the same chemicals

    Elastics are more for soft corals, pin cushions, stuff that can deflate, and you can also use that bag the oranges com in to put over stuff like pulsing xenia, with an elastic band.
