    Btw, my monitor is calibrated for photography. :)
    That is also one thing I always said- people's monitors are tuned (brightness, contrast etc) differently, hense some see darker/lighter/duller pics etc

    I am looking at the detail I can change color with photo shop - the full pic details are something else I can't post it here unfortunately - 3MB jpg

    The algae background detracts from the subject you are shooting. Try get a piece of blue Perspex or something similar and slot it in behind and take the same shot again.
    Also try to get the whole subject in focus.
