    Hi all

I have had the most devastating month of May ever! I have litterally lost all my livestock now due to oodinium (It came about in the quaratine tank when I found whitespot on the fish and somehow started there. I misdiagnosed it for being a resistant strain and only to late found out it was oodinium). I also lost a lot of them due to complications and obstacles in the treatment of it aswell :dft004::dft004:

I have gone from 11 Beautiful specimens to 2 left (A clown and a fox face). I am not even sure they will make it ! They are eating now, (I resorted to copper) but there even I am shooting in the dark as my Blinking Red sea and Sera testing kits don't work.

I feel so down that I feel like putting my 2m on the for sale tab.

What do you guys do when you hit this low ?

    L8r...

the best way and what i do, is take this time to reflect on how and what happened, and how it can be fixed, dont rush again to stock, but stand back and look at the bigger picture, add this, remove that etc

also visit other reefers and see how others do things etc

i have recently lost all my corals and ones i was keeping for others so i know your pain

Pick up the pieces, learn from your mistake and move on ;)

No point in crying over spilled milk, what's done is done. Chin up :)

well i personally go surfing and chill to take the edge off.. i like to want to work on my tank not have to..

i also agree that a period of reflection is a good idea, and give the system (and wallet) some time to recouperate before restocking.. dont force a system flow with it.. allow it to go through its paces..

maybe it too just needs a time out?

Thanks for the wise words guys and sympathy. I am leaning towards just keeping it strictly a reef system(no fish). I seem to for some reason have "Green fingers" with coral... no matter what it is, I put it in and it grows !

But for now I will take a timeout. Just need to get motivated to continue with this hobby.

going coral only for a while isnt a bad thing.. its when you start stocking the tank with fish again you just need to take it slow..

kidding, it happens, and this is probably on of the harder hobbies to take up, but the reward for getting it right is well worth the hard times ;-)
