Haha Ashley I think storm was just kidding:tt2:

It depends on what permit you took out. You have the aquarium permit, fish permit or invert permit, these are the most we use for the hobby.

The "marine aquarium" permit allows you to catch 10 fish, but not more that 5 of a species.

And only fish - my local NCS guy was very forgiving as I thought my marine aquarium permit was for everything I could chuck it my tank - seems not. Had to take out a few other permits to collect anything other than fish.:p
But rather stay on the right side of the law.

I have to question the motive for acquiring a permit if you do not know what you are allowed to collect. Are you just going down to the coast for the holidays and want to collect as much as you can? Or do you have some specifics you would like to collect for you aquarium.

All to often i see "ID this please" I collected it from this place or that beach. Many a species was removed because the temptation was to great and the collector had no idea what he was collecting. The creature died.

Please collect considerately, and only what your aquarium can sustain. Also make sure that transporting facilities are adequate and do not over collect in a hope that you will have a better yield on your return.

Have a happy thoughtful collecting holiday. Enjoy.

I know for a fact you are not allowed to collect any Great Whites on that permit of yours.
