Scruffels. I keep SPS and havent yet connected up my CArx to the new system so i've been dosing Calcium Hydroxide (kalkwasser) in my system daily to keep up with my Ca and Alk demand.

Dont waste you time with Red Sea dude. If im not mistaken, Red Sea is Calcium Chloride, not Hydroxide.
Visit a chemist and purchase it from there. Sells for +-R50.00 for 600grams.

I also run an SPS tank and I use Tropic Marin bio calcium only. It maintains my calcium, alkalinity and magnesium and all micro and macro elements. I add five scoops a day to maintain my tank perfectly.

Yip. I havent tested Ca, but alk is @ 7 DKH. I still prefer the CArx though, less effort :p

It depends on your demand. Get your levels to what you want, then add some to the ro water and then test the levels in a couple of days later, and adjust as necessary.

I have found a CaRx to be the best method of keeping my Ca level high enough for my corals and clams

It will make pH rise, but doesn't effect Alk much.

If you need to increase Alk then you will need to use BiCarb
