    Please give me info on the benefits of surge or wavemaker devices ?

    Nice article, explains flow dynamics and what the coral require nicely.

    What I was referring to, is surge or wavemakers in conjunction with powerheads.

    Will the wavemakers give any further benefit to the corals.

    Example, I have a Bird's Nest 150mm away from a M1100 (3300l/h), would introducing a random surge/wave make any difference to this coral development?

    Not sure about development but the coral would definitely be a lot happier with random flow, more natural than getting constantly blown in one direction 24/7.
