Watzup with north pier?

anyone got any idea whats going on with north pier?is it going to be demolished?if not when is it going to be reopen.that was like my second home.

I spoke to a guy from the NSRi last week. Construction is due to start in like 2 months. South pier is going to be closed off as well, they are going to be making a cement depot there for all the construction.

what about the whole eco sytem there?will we beable to dive and will there still be specimens in that area once reopened?

I'm very sure you will still see the same bio diversity.

The reason there are so many fish there is because it offers shelter, and the new pier will do the same thing.

Nope, they going to blow it up, and build a new one.

Just for info...the pier will be demolished (without explosives) and the new pier will be rebuilt, using the material recovered from the existing pier, about 100m closer to Vetchs. There is now security on site and there is no longer access to north pier (even across the front of the sand bypass hopper). Work is expected to start within the next month.

alot of guys have being diving there recently from the shore kevin.they said there was no security on the pier?have you noticed them around?
