Good day everyone,
Frag tank has been placed and now getting all equipmen needed.
It's a 150cm x 25cm x 45cm holding roughly 150l what would the ideal rating return pump for the setup from sump?

Will have a DSB and still contimplating algae scrubber or skimmer?

Any ideas?

Thanks

what is the width of the sump?
You need good strong flow over the DSB. Obviously not strong enough to blow the water away, yet still strong enough to prevent excess settlement. The dividing panels difference in height should be maximum 10mm. That would prevent a waterfall effect coming into the DSB area. Can be the same height as well. I prefer a slight drop.

Flow over the DSB should be such that the head height of the water going over the last divider is between 6 and 10mm. That is the depth of the water between the very top of the glass panel and the actual water surface as it goes over. You need a pump that DELIVERS into the display, after head height and other back pressure factors were taken into account, at least a 1000L for every 150mm width of your sump. That would give just over 6mm head height. So if the sump is 450mm wide as well, then you would need a return pump with rating of about 5000 to 6000L, depending on height of the stand. Not a 3000L pump.
