    Hi guys,

I have a single level plastic sump, with my heaters, protein skimmer, orca biocubes and lots of live rock.

My problem is that I feel the skimmer is not producing skimmate due to the water level being to low.

My plan is to add another plastic container within the sump where the cubes and skimmer will sit. Problem is, what height container?

I got the skimmer from someone else, it just has real written on the front but is run by a hailea pump. Looks similar to the weipro skimmers.

What water level should I run the skimmer? Any average height maybe?

Are you sure the skimmer is tuned in properly. Maybe past a picture of where the water level is in the skimmer?

I have tuned and tuned and tuned.lol. Either it produces a slight yellow coloured liquid,( too clear for my liking) in the cup, or nothing at all in the cup. I will post a pic tonight also.

Not very clear, but u can see the level of water the skimmer is in. Any idea how many cm's I should keep the level at?

Skimmers can take nothing or a lot, mine takes dark sludge then calms down, what bio load is in your tank?

Right now, just a few snails and one clown, one yellowtail damsel. So not much of a bioload.
