Water containers

Hi, What containers do you guys use to store RO or salt water in? can you use any container? I'm worried about things leaching into the water from the container

I use reef salt buckets for longer term storage to keep my topo up water in. Just before doing a big water change I fill up a 240l wheelie dustbin. I cleaned the bin thoroughly when I first bought it to get all the production and shop soiling off.
