    water changes, how mutch how often, can you use products that elimintes nitrates and nitrit and then you dont have to do water changes?

    Depends entirely on your system. Most guys do 10% every week. You could use macro algae to control nitrates. If you have corals you will also have to dose different trace elements that get used up by the corals, the trace elements usually get replenished by water changes. Some guys do do water changes and dose but that is because they have SPS systems and they use up a lot of trace elements.

    If you are new to reefkeeping I would recommend sticking to water changes.
