It looks like you still have a lot to do before you can see any fish.

What type of filter system you going to run?

Hi... Again x_x! So I thought I would rather add on to this old thread instead of start a new one :)! I still haven't actually started a tank and have already upgraded:blush::lol: (I always thought I might)... I need to ask a few questions that havent been answered after 3 years of me being a bit of a ghost on this site! I now have a full system = 600l! DT= 360l Sump= 240l! I will most probably start a new thread of my tank once its actually running:dft001:
For starters I would like to know what the hell these smilies are doing:Randy-git:...
So I have a Reeftek TS2 skimmer rated for 500l too small for my tank I suppose :banghead: (I got it when I had the smaller tank mentioned earlier( actually was 100l))
    Questions:
    1. I would like an algae scrubber and have read that with one you don't need a skimmer, I'm not saying I'm gonna scrap my skimmer but rather asking if I have both will the scrubber make up for the skimmer being under powered?
    2. WTH is carbon filtration:blush:
    3. When working out the size pumps I need must I work out on the total system or my DT size?
    4. I would like to have LED's as my lighting! I see many come with fans does that mean I would need a chiller:(
    5. What tests do you do in your tank!? I know Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, PH, salinity an temp:p
    6. If I want an algae scrubber must it be running from The Beginning Of Time?

Sorry if I should have posted this as a new thread! ( I dont even have the excuse that I'm new here :tt2:)

It is there for to get the reefers confuse. If you don't want to write you use smileys. There are very handy smileys you can use well, you see.

    Thanks for all the replies!
And thanks butcherman for the answers!
In regards to Q3: both:p and Q6: Must I run the scrubber from when the tank starts to cycle? Or only connect it once the cycle is compete?
    Thanks in advance, Rocky

You can setup a scrubber from the beginning, it will help as well getting the parameters in check. Plus you will have a matured scrubber by the time you add fish. Scrubber takes some time to grow beneficial algae. The light sequence should be in reverse to your tank.
