    Hi there,

I'm in need of two new (or good secondhand) tyres for my smart car. Apart from the fact that they are made only by Continental (who has no stock or production date), they are an odd size so the usual HiQ, TwT, Supaquick, etc. don't stock them.

My best bet would probably be to buy the wheels of an accident damaged car - but I have no idea where smart cars go when they're written off :) Wannenburg has no idea.

Hopefully someone here on the forums is either in the industry or has a contact?

145 R15? Did not know that 15" tyres came in that small width. Why not go 10 wider and try to find a 155/60 R15.

Hehe don't feel bad for not knoi=wing. A few fitment centres were even amazed. Will the 155/60 R15 fit on the mags though? Fitting different mags is not an option, as the smart car mags have 3 holes instead of the standard 4 or 5.

10 wider should still fit on the same rim.

    Smart

I have a 2003 pulse .Have fitted the back (175/55*15) on the front narrow rim . Done 20000 km and no problems .First I fitted (195/50*15) on the rear and have done 40000 km with this size they are a common size and much cheaper . The car handles great , like a go cart , use low pressures 1.6 and 1.8 otherwise can be bumpy . Looks great too .can send photo's tomorrow if you wish . PM me if you want more info.

Cool man, please send me more info about what you've done. Would be great if I can fit good tyres at a better price. I work from home, so this car is really just for short trips to the post office bank, and shopping. Occasionally a 20km or so trip form Centurion to Menlyn...
