I know there are a few guys out there that sometimes make DIY Rocks.

If you are in the process then please let me know.

I'm looking looking for about 10 cubes, about 10cmx10cm cubes.

    Let us know.

    something like this:

@Andre@ReefAquatics, something else that could work really well is the ceramic blocks that the furnace guys use as heat resistant bricks.
I was lucky a couple years ago to find some for free from a supplier that had surplus from a project.
It is basically a bubble infused ceramic block that can be cut into sizes & its VERY porous!!!

Will see if i can get the contact details for the guys where i got it from...

It looks something like this [IMG]

But just a lot more porous & its completely reef safe.

Interesting thanks, looks easy to make, but needs some time curing, I also like the idea of using Rock salt to give the holes in the rock once dissolved.

Now the question is what is our equivalent to Portlands cement here ?

Thanks for this, also seems something to consider, let us know if you remember the supplier. Else I'm going to go the DYI route with aragonite/cement/rock salt :) and cure for a month.

Visser, how hard is this stuff? Can I use the dremel tool to cut it and do you perhaps have any photos of your DIY project with this item?

@Chris Delport, yes, they are soft enough to be cut even with a hacksaw etc... A dremel would be perfect to cut/shape it with!

@dallasg, will send you the number as well. (only after sunday unfortunately)

They will work for plates as well, you just have to cut them yourself...
