Hi guys ive got a problem. I dont know if this is the right place.

I've got play sand in my DT but since my tank is onley 450 mm deep the sand gets blowen around and covers the rocks. Would sea sand work better as i can not afford aragonite?

The tank has been cyceling for 2 weeks now.

If sea sand wold work, dose any body know were i can get +- 10kg ?

    Thanks

Sea sand is finer than playsand so I recon it would blow around even worse. Try to aim your pumps upwards & angled towards the glass that should help as that is what mine is running & my 1 tank is only 300 deep.

I walk it off the beach attached to my shoes.
When I get home I shake it in a bucket for the tank.
    Slow but legal process!

They'll chop off your legs if they see you doing that:razz:

Yes, as far as I know. I think it's due to rising sea level and erosion on our coast. I'm not sure of this is legislation or just up to the cop when he catches you on the day:p But can you imagine if everyone that frequents the beach removes a bucket of sand. There won't be any left. We use to collect sand back in the day for cat litter:p

If you're worried about the sand how's this. Meks sends his handy man one day(more all of the time:lol:) to collect NSW in 25l containers and the bloody cop then pokes holes in the containers. They should infact pay us for using and removing water from the ocean seeing that the sea level is rising everyday:whistling:
