The best bet is to swing past Builders warehouse and pick up a Fire extinguisher and mod it for aquariums... I've seen it done many times. Just make sure you buy the Co2 bottle and not the powder one. They go for around R350.

dude you need the screw adjuster, i used the extinguisher handle and it released so much pressure into the reg it popped it off.. how i missed my cars windscreen i will never know but i found the reg like 200meters away and only because it hit a tree..

seriously need to ease the cos into the reg..

mmhhh thanks Les. Thought there would be some risk, also heard of okes having the gauges months later, simply fly off to the moon.

I'm assuming the screw adjuster it what regulates to release of gas before it gets to your gauge...part of the fitting that comes with the gauge?

this is the regulator/unit I've ordered....anything more i need to get to fit to the bottle (from Builders) ? I'm a total noob at this CARX thing.

nope thats perfect, dual reg one side tells you what in the cylinder the other what pressure is in the line. solenoid is there so prefect for controll.

you got all the other bells and whistles?

    PH controller
bubble counter (can easily be made)
    reactor body
PH meter would be nice if you not using a dual stage reactor to monitor in tank PH
    CO2 2 or 5kg
Ph probe for PH controller and PH meter (if used)

You could go to a decent welding supply company, and ask for their smallest CO2 or Argon bottle used for TIG/MIG welding - also get an Argon regulator.

You can use the Afrox cylinders. I had one a few years ago which I got from the restaurant I was working in and it fitted the pressure reducer perfectly. There are depots around Jo'burg where you can "buy" the cylinder and take it for refills. The just have different sized ones for different draught machines so take the pressure reducer with you to fit it
