hi guys i dont wanna start the debate over NSW vs Synthetic.
well salt is not cheap so i wanna try NSW only if its worth it. wanna collect water from ushaka.
    Is the water ok.
Can i put it straight into my tank or do i need to filter it first, run carbon po4 or any other stuff.

Yes you can do it, water at ushaka should be ok, you shouldn't have to filter it. But you can if you want

Wolve I use NSW that I collect from North Beach (Straight in front of my place). What I do is collect early in the morning before lots of bathers visit the beach. Let the S/Sw blow for a day or 2 to clear up the water, and then go and collect. The water at Ushaka is fine aswell. I use the water in less than an hour after collecting.

You got to obtain a permit, and you can collect from just outside the entrance where we entered for the behind the scenes. Lot of guys say it is safer, I have no used it. I have always collected in knee deep water and my SPS and fish are happy. Make sure you dont collect from a beach that is full of bathers or where there is storm water outlets. There's a lot of coastal reefers that collect water from out shorelines.
