..yes there is...:005:..for ME anyway...:005::p Most of the Members use the "Image Uploader" ...I struggle bigtime as you have to resize and I do that till I'm blue in the face and my measurements are half their size requirements and I still can't load it....I know...my computer skills are......too say the least...!!! So I use "Albums"...open a Album and load onto that...no resizing...whalla...!! when you post you then select [insert] under My Album photos and click the pic you want...just make sure you have the flashing curser in a new line as that is where the picture in your reply box will go...

Welcome! Soon you'll discover one tank is never enough (neither is two, three or four!)

    Hi all.

sorry for the silence. been a hectic with work and all that. managed to get some live rock.
after a couple of days i picked up a hairy "something" in one of the holes in the live rock.
This morning i notice that it had moved to a groove in front. pic below. anyone know what it is?

Could be a tuxedo urchin, or urchin of some sort, never heard of them being hitch hikers though. Kind of tough to see as it has lodged itself between the rocks. Not 100%

So it's week two and all seems well and my unknown shelled visitor is back in hiding.

Tests sort of going aight.. Slightly concerned with Mg and Ca measurements.

    Alk > 3,6
    Ph > 8,4
    Nitrate > 0
    Nitrite > 0
    Magnesium > 1700
    ammonia> 0,25
    Calcium> 650

Any advise on my calcium and magnesium levels?

Well they seem to be quite high are you sure your tests are accurate?
    Are you dosing anything?
Some test kits like mine have a strange method of calculation to come to the final result.
What salt are you using and what is your specific gravity?

Thanks @ MC, yes they are, tested twice for both?
    Salinity is 1.023
    Temp is 26 degrees celcius.
Been struggling to get temp down also, might look at getting a chiller soon....

The calcium has been at 350 the last two weeks and added a calculated dose of Red Sea Success Calcium last night. Should I give it more time for osmosis to complete taking place??

350 is not that bad, have you been doing water changes?
I think with nano tank it is always better to try do more changes and try to dose less.
Why do you want to get your temp down, 26 is a good temp?
Im not sure what you mean about the osmosis being complete?
So what you are saying is your calcium was at 350 and then you dosed calcium and now its up to 650.
    What salt are you using?

Meant is 24 hours Enough for the calcium dose to mix up with the rest of the water in the tank?
Haven't done a water change as yet. Added 10 ml of Success Calcium ( with top up water) to try raise the calcium to 390/400.

I don't know the salt that was used as it was set up for me..

Temperature had been playing around 28/29, it's only yesterday when it came down to 26 degrees....
