    Hey guys

Has anyone had a problem with a starfish that looks like it has been bitten or skin peeling off. I have checked Ph 8.5 and copper test 0. What can i do? Thanks

It almost looks like it got "burned" or something as I kind of see a solid "stripe" thru the injury...? Any chance of a closer pic...?...hmmmm just saw another Section on the other leg....did this happen overnight...?

Problem i had with them, they keep on sticking their legs inside the pumps, chopping the legs to almost the same as how your starfish'es legs look. Also seen another starfish in a friend's tank who got chomped by angels

yes it happened over night, my heater is in my refugium and he was in the main tank. I read the other thread and it looks like i must just give it time to hopefully heal or if you have any other suggestions. Pretty sad for the little guy he looks like he is in pain. He just came up from behind a rock and he looks worse.

I do, the first pic was in the main tank with the hermits then put the starfish in the refugium last night and the new pics were worse with nothing else in the refugium to bite him.

What is your salinity? Starfish react badly when there is a sudden change in Salinity, could also be a bacterial infection causing the necrosis.

(the orange star fish that belinda posted is actually mine, he is doing ok now, he lost about 75% of his leg so he has a stump now, and i still do not know the cause but i am rather certain it was because i brought my sg up to quickly from 1.019)
