Hi Chemical Guys,

I mix my kalkwasser with vinegar before adding to the R.O.

My question is, can I store this mixture for any length of time and in what will I be able to store it. I might be traveling quite a bit from next month and wanted to make things as easy as possible for my wife while I'm gone.

What mixture do you want to store, the kalk and vinegar or the kalk/vinegar/ro mixture?

I wouldn't think so Gali i reckon it would be better to mix and use, i may be wrong here.

Hi Thalion, welcome :)

Yip good old normal white spirit vinegar from Pick 'n Pay or Checkers or Spar will do the trick.

I want to mix the vinegar and Kalk then store it.

Thalion, yes normal white (clear) spirit vinegar is distilled AFAIK.

When you guys say store the mixture, do you mean just the kalk and vinegar, or a kalk, vinegar and RO mix?

Hill, just the vinegar and kalk. So that can just easily be shaken and a teaspoon full be added to my ATO (containing the RO) whenever necessary.

Can someone please explain this process in more detail?
What value does the vinegar have?
What qty of vinegar and kalk is mixed, etc?

thanks
