It might be some kind of stress- spot, they come and they go. Just be patient, feed the blue tang with nice food and maintain the good quality of the tank, the small white spot should go. If ever it persist, u see the blue tang scratching regularly against the rocks, then certainly the fish is not feeling fine, and the best will be to put it in a separate quarantine tank .
Hope thats fine. U will certainly get some better info by the more mature guys here.;)

Really sorry to hear badbiker! Can you post your water parameters please. Also, did you acclimatize the fish? If so, for how long?

    Hey Badbiker,

Sorry to hear man... for future... you must acclimatise all new inhabitants for your tank... I would suggest using a drip technique, I have found that works very well :) Minimum stress to your new little creature/coral and its a slow transition.

Things like Tangs are very sensitive, specially regals, they get white spot usually when they are under stress... this is also treatable...

On side note, you should read up on each new addition to your tank to know how long to acclimatise for as well as environment specific requirements, feeding, etc.

PM me if you want more info :)

Don't worry bro, its always hard to lose these little creatures. Most of us have had lost, there is no shame in that. However, u must use this mistake as a learning curve.
Next time, watever fish u buy, even if it looking healthy at ur LFS, u should atleast acclimatize the fish before adding to the tank.

U can change 1/4 of water if u can, it a way to eliminate partially some freefloating parasites.

Anyway, have u checked the other fishes in the tank? Have a look atthem, there might be one or two slight infected.

Are u using U.V or ozone reactor???

Do u have any corals? If no, I would Personally have decrease the S.gravity to 1.018! Some would even decrease below 1.012 for better parasite elimination!
