Hi All

I need some advice, currently I got 2 nemo clowns in my tank, the one I bought a week and half back. Now the problem is I have not seen this dude eat since I got it.
I went to the lfs on Saturday where I bought him to find out what they are feeding there fish. They gave me some frozen marine mix with some seacem garlic. I even tried pellets soaked in Garlic but no joy
Now my other nemo goes graze for the stuff. Is this something to worry about? He is shy and normally hides when I come to the tank. His been fine up an till yesterday
I got home to find him hiding at the back of the tank under the rocks. Now I did move one of my wave makers in the tank due to dead spots the day before do you guys think it’s because he might be dying that he hides at the back
or due to the change of flow in the tank. I am very concerned about the little dude don’t want him to die.

It is important to ask lfs to feed fish before you buy them.

Dont panic just yet - but do keep an eye on him, he might have been stressed by the transfer....which could lead to other problems.

I lost a clown that was stressed....imune system was down...contracted something and died....

Keep us updated!

Unfortunately this is not always true. I had a clown that ate at first and then stopped after a week. It slowly starved to death despite trying almost every different food I could find.

Hi @butcherman

I have been soaking the food in Seacem garlic but he do’s not think much of it. I have some raw garlic flakes at home the kind you buy in the shops that comes in a small tub should I try feeding him that. I need to get some food in him or he’s going to die

Try reef paste. Food often gets removed from the water column before the shy fish get a chance to eat. Reef paste stuck on a rock in a low flow area lasts a long time and the constant smell of it might entice him to eat.

Morning all

Just an update, the clown died on Sunday morning, shame the poor dude was paper thin. No matter what I offered it to eat it did not want it.

Thanks Belinda, it’s very hard sore when you tried everything to get him to eat even spent more money on food than what he cost in the first place.
There must have been something wrong with him since he did not eat from day one. On the upside I got to meet some more MASA members on Friday when I
Collected the reef paste from @459b just a pity I could not stay for a chat.
