MY MOMMA TOLD ME THERE WOULD BE DAYS LIKE THIS..........

lets start off with the Sweet part ....

I moved into my new house over the weekend, beats the hell out of renting.....

    NOW the Bittttttttttttttter

i moved the contents of the house on sat .... except the tank

Sunday was tank day ..... i should have known things were not going to go my way when i slipped and reinjured a recurring shoulder dislocation ..... the look on Dallas and Sentari's faces was priceless ... as priceless as it can be with your shoulder dislocated....

to cut a long story short ...

After 2 years of having a Nennie ....... on Saturday night when the tank was alone it somehow got sucked into the pump...... (breathe Crispin)... the nennie proofing promoted on the karen rose website worked in that the nennie was not sucked in and chopped up, but it was suctioned against the pump..... no visible tearing but a very grumpy nennie

i have moved many tanks before and never lost much livestock .... until sunday

I did everything i know correctly and lost 5 fish...

    my 18cm regal
    my copperband
    my sailfin tang
    my pair of anthias

    BLEAK .....

Tonight tanks seems stable, doing WC, only 1 t5 light on, skimming wet, new carbon, dosing stability and other bacteria .......

Nennie is grumpy but seems to be ok

a tough day in reefing for me.

Special thanks to Dallas, Inflames and Sentari for all their help, it was greatly appreciated ...

Eish man Neil! I am REALLY sorry to hear of your shoulder..... and of the loss in lifestock.

It is really really a bad thing to lose such prized lifestock! The worst of all - the nemmie is still OK, bar a few missing tentacles. (And the nemmie will recover 100% - guaranteed)....

All I can say - my thoughts are with you mate. I know EXACTLY how you feel. Been there - A FEW TIMES in the last year and a bit!

Chin up, my friend - it could have been worse... having survived a 1000km tank move, and a tank bursting in my house, I know exactly how you feel, and I'm really sorry to hear of your losses, but trust me, it does get better again :)

ok hearts returning to a slightly slower rate. I am very sorry to hear about those losses, I know how much care and attention you pay your live stock so I know how much they mean to you. Its a terrible list to read too, quite some fish that have gone.

i always knew you wanted to frag that nennie, but amputation via power head is not the best way! Congrats though on taking those precautions with those power heads, not many people do, myself included, going that slight extra step saved you whole tank and that nennie.

PS just drink with the other hand while the shoulder heals :)

Sorry to hear that, but a nemmie with a powerhead? One day...
The day came. Like Quinton told me, he wanted to get a new tank soon, because he is worried that his aquaH2O tank will burst one day.

One day... his tank burst. As long as you learn from your mistakes, things will get better.
We all went through this. I used a 75 mm pipe horizontal with lots of 5 mm slits in there. I introduce 5 regals and lost 3 in the first night. I could have lost all, maybe

    ONE DAY...

So sorry to hear Niel! Sorry i couldnt stay longer. Would have loved to help move more and sort things out.

I had a few heart wrenching moments that day... Some of them being the following.

Who's going to remove that monster foxface?
    101 bristleworms :)
A cracked tank that wasnt actually cracked! :)
    The nennie...
and not to mention Neil looking in alot of pain with myself and Dallas wondering what the hell is going on :)

Good to hear your move went well! Lucky those Livestock are easy to replace but i know the feeling!

Keep up the good work and i will look out for another yellow belly regal for you. I think Lanzo has a few left. Get Dallas to organise one for you :)

Keep your chin up bud!

thanks one and all for the kind words ...... The encouragement of fellow reefers really does mean a lot.

I guess we all feel like this at some point, the knowledge that your actions led to the death of something is a bitter pill to swallow even if you did everything correctly, i will simply put that bitterness into the design of a bullet proof a system as is humanly possible....

the new build should start in the next week or so and that will be the last move for these critters for a long time...

    thanks again everyone !

Heavy S@#% Neil, Sorry mate. You really had some stunning LS in there that many of us were jealous of. I mean a CBB that eats pellets... Sorry again. But like all the optimists say, now you can do it better the next time. Gimme a shout if I can help with anything.
