This is great! We have the Vertex Vectra ready to go and the price is totally cool! About half of the competitors. I guess it was worth the wait.

The product consists of an motor, the Vectra Engine, plus a sold seperately cover, available in various millimeter diameters for most standard neck sizes. We offer 150, 160, 180, 200, 250, 300mm diameters. These last 4 correspond directly to the Vertex Alpha Skimmer series, the 170, 200, 250, 300. It will fit the Royal Exclusiv skimmers, as well as most other brands. Just measure the diameter of your skimmer neck and Bob's your uncle...... or somtin' like that.

Here is a link where you can get a good look at it!

OK, go run to your nearest Vertex dealer and demand your cleaning team! [IMG]

To make it easier for Nathan (Submariner), let him know what the diameter of the cup is in millimeter, so he can order you directly the correct lid. They come in 150mm, 160mm, 180mm, 200mm, 250mm, and 300mm, which should fit most major brands of skimmer, as they all use the same standard acrylic tube sizes. The Vectra Engine is standard for all lid sizes.

    Any questions?

    Jamie

    thanks Jamie

my stupid question for the day, where does all the gunk go? does this run on a skimmer in place or is the cup removed then one uses this...
i plan to use one on my reef octopus INT3000

Not a stupid question. The gunk goes into the foam and is thus pushed out into the cup. One must consider that, when swiped say once or twice per day, the amount of waste inside of the neck will be minimal and not be a problem. Of course, the foam will be broken for a few minutes, but that repairs itself quickly and pushes the gunk (what a word, somehow universal!) up into the cup. It's pretty straight foreward.

i still sincearly believe if you want your skimmer to perform consistently this is the way to go and should be seen as a definate necessity when purchasing a top end skimmer.. i am going to get one as soon as finaces allow..
