    Hi There -
i dont mean to rain on ur parade but SPS coral need a very stable tank and urs is only 7 weeks old. I would recomend that you start with softies like zoas and mushrooms/sinularia/kenya tree and after a while add Hammers/Pin Cushion/Torch Coral. The thing with SPS is that they need stable temperature and alkalinity and calcium will need to be monitored and dosed. This sps piece is very beautiful and i would hate to see you dissapointed if it dies.
My tank is just over a year old and i have just started keeping SPS - you will also need much better lighting like T5 or Metal Halide. If you need any pics of what the softies and LPS look like jus let me know.

    Regards
    Duran

Thanks Duran for the responce and advice on what my tank would keep alive now.
Busy now arranging for some pulsating Xenia's from Rakabos.

I have googled those softies and they do look good...problem is they are expensive from the LFS and hard to come by the smaller frags, etc. So i guess my first softy will be the Xenia.

    thanks alot again

Hi, I would agree with Durleo.

As per my PM, u welcome to still pop in for a visit to see what I have that keeps my sps in good shape. I would not recommend an SPS for a pico...rather a single LPS or softie.

However, should you one day get a tank, say about 500L or more...would be happy to help you with your shopping list of what you will need...and the recipe that goes with it.

Personally, though Pico's and Nano's for me...are more difficult to maintain as the margin for error is small.

Thanks guys for the wise advise. Dont want to kill anything just yet...and surely not waste money when i could get something that is more suitable for my tank.

    Adee
I think it will be awhile before the wife allows me to get anything bigger...she already started to complain about how much time i spend sitting infront of the tank looking at "rocks", so a bigger tank is not on the books just yet;)
