So a couple of days ago i noticed two perfect holes in my rather large Pincushion leather. Not knowing what could be in there or if it was a parasite i didnt want to take the risk of doing nothing and losing a healthy coral.
So i whipped out a syringe and squirted an iodine solution in each hole, left it to simmer a bit and thereafter used same said syringe to suck it up. There was a greenish goo that had the same consistancy of wet nori.

All removed now and leather doing 100's as it were before said incedent. Has anyone experienced such a thing before? What or Who was the cause of it?

    Cheers,
    Nur

I would have cut a bit deeper to see if anything had burrowed in there.

Problem with this is, "they" could also tunnel deeper trying to get away from the predator.

Its a tough call when you dont know what you dealing with

haha, naa i got everything out. holes are closing up naturally. I used the Iodine to confuse or stun watever was in there. Thereafter everything came out quite easily. nothing stayed back.

Did you remove it from the tank to do your impromptu surgery?

Seen this before. In that case it was caused by a worm and all we did was make a small cut and pulled it out.

When i emptied the syringe the contents were the consistency of mushed nori made me think the suction or the iodine made it like that. Initially i thought that something might have depositted it in there, maybe it spawned an burrowed to for its eggs.
