How many ltrs is your setup and what is the wattage of the UV and to where have you got it connected.
I have a 30w running 24/7 at the moment on my 1300L system. Best place for the feed to the UV is in your display as you would'nt want to kill your bacteria and living organisms in your sump.
24/7 is a bit long but my feed pump is very low lph - 200.

The last guy who called me a Faerie isn't around to tell the story anymore:)

    1 - its prob a 15W
2 - IMO if you return is pushing 3500ltr through the sump it may be a tad too much but check out deductions for head loss etc.
3 - Make sure the UV is as far from bio diversity as possible ie right next to return thats if it has to be in da sump.
I would run UV for poss 6 hrs a day but keep water flowing through it to keep it clean.
    Cheers

Hi, sorry for the delay in responding. I'm honestly not so sure I believe that UV sterilizers do much good. So I'm just going to say "no comment" here.
