I bought a new BB3000 skimmer - can I use my old TS2 to build a DIY kalk stirrer? Has anybody done something similar? Should be much cheaper than a new stirrer?

I think anything is possible but I would not suggest it unless you can seal the whole unit to be relatively airtight. Unfortunately fresh Kalkwasser is unstable and reacts with CO2 in the air rapidly diminishing in the level of free calcium. This will eliminate the potential benefits of dosing your tank with Calcium at the same time.

Here is an example of what you should be working towards.

Cheap DIY aquamedic/deltec style Kalk stirrer for under $50 - Reef Central Online Community

This works on the stirrer principle.
The Reactor works with a circulation pump that switch periodically on and off but I don't like this one personally as it wears the pump out.

I would sell the TS2 and use the procedes towards buying a new/secondhand reactor or DIY one as above.

    Hope this helps.

Rather sell the TS2 and buy a Kalk Stirrer.
