Um :p The event thing is tied in to the map, I think, you create an event, like a reefclub meeting, put it's location on the map, then it creates a thread about the event with the location and then the route planner allows you to enter your address and your destination address and it plots a route for you via google, or something like that, although you can do all this on google maps. There are loads of settings for it and I haven't really looked at it, I was just keen on the members map part of it so we could all put our rough location on the map, the rest of the stuff could just be a bit bloated and unnecessary I think and may not really be useful. I've been hunting for a members map for ages and this is the only one that has any kind of inkling of working, unfortunately it comes built in with all this other route planner etc. stuff. So it may not be around for long, I might uninstall it.

I think it is a brill idea. I am sure the sponsors will find out that by entering a shipment landed thread or promotion in as an event will get feet into their shop. :)

I don't think they've got one, can you speak german? See if your map is in the list in the first post on this page - vBulletin-Membermap - vBulletin-Germany.org Forum
No, that option is not there unfortunately. It is very basic, not much functionality. :(

lol, it's there, but a very basic map sadly, these are the codes that are available - 1371, 1382, 1384.

:( I had visions of a map with little green flags flashing on the center page. When a user clicks on the flag a pop-up of the event appears.:lol::lol:

Yeah us sponsors want to get a $ worth.

Can the program be loaded twice. one for members and one for the events thing?

Mods i really think this location/events thing could be an asset.

I joke about the center page thing, but a section at the bottom of the home page above the reef builders might be an option.

Relating to the map idea, the flagging of events, reef keeping and general could be advertised. Like in the map one could hover the mouse over a area and all the goings on in that area could be selected. A Gauteng reefer going to Capetown could look up things of interest in that area. Sponsors to visit, Public aquaria, TOTM reefers to visit, Neal diamond concert etc etc

    No it can't.

It has something that is called P.O.I. (Points of Interest) which can be put on the map (I think those have different coloured flags), I will spend a couple of hours on this tomorrow as there are loads of options, see if I can figure out what exactly it does and how it all works.

On second thoughts Dean it might be a bad idea. @Mekaeel and @sean_koekemoer will have flags pointing to pics of piddly little catches and sonbrilletjies poses all over the coast line.
