    Hi Guys
I acquired a RBTA last night and dripped it accordingly. I am a little concerned because the mouth of the nennie stays open for a long while. It also blows up. When I came home from work today, the mouth was closed again. Just a little while ago I witnessed a ball like thing come out of its mouth. It was the same colour as the nennie. It floated away with the current. I managed to get this picture of it. After that had happened, the mouth closed again. Is this nennie dying or what. There is movement when I touch it though. My other RBTA has never done this before. Could it just be that it is getting used to my water parameters and will soon get back to normal?
Has anyone had this kind of experience before. The ball like thing I am talking about is at the bottom right of nennie.

most likely it just pooped.... Or it threw up its last meal it had just before the move due to stress.

give it a few days to adjust.

I would normally reduce flow for a few hours when adding a nennie.

As long as he is not getting a direct blast he will be ok.
The minute he does not like the spot he is in, he will move.

I did put all pumps off when I added. Left two on overnight and only one on today until now I put all three back on. It seems okay. There is no direct flow hitting at the moment.

Update. RBTA seems to be doing fine. No signs of its tissue tearing. Mouth closed at the moment. It hasn't moved from the spot where I put it. I guess it's happy in that spot. Here is a photo of it.

Just took another photo and what an eyesore to see. Look at its mouth open like this. This is no sign of RBTA feeding. Anybody have any useful advice please.
    Thanks in advance.

    Kh 8.4dkh
    Magnesium 1750
Calcium 1000ppm I know is a high so water change tomorrow.
    Nitrate 4ppm
    Phosphate 0.02ppm
Hopefully a water change tomorrow will iron out some issues.

Try feeding your nennie some white fish
I have tried calamari and found it doesn't work so well.
Try a piece of hake or another white fish

@MerlinT I think this nennie needs time to settle let it be and try feeding it once it shows signs of being happy. There are times that my nennies go without being fed for weeks.. just my 2c

Merlin take a sample to a shop near you and have them test it. Is far is my knowledge goes I find it near impossible to get such high parameters. There is no benefit of running Ca higher than 420. Stay clear from Red sea coral pro for now as it advertised with high parameters. Your nenie is stressed and will not eat till its settled. I personally would try remove the nenie and have someone keep it for you till parameters are within acceptable normal values.

You need to try bring your Mag down to about 1600ppm at least. Anything higher than that will kill off your inverts. Mine is constantly at 1600ppm to prevent Bryopsis. You Calcium is quite high, not sure if you have a faulty Calcium test kit. As Snoek mentioned there was a recall of the Red Sea Calcium pro test.

With regards to feeding, try Lance Fish. Take out 1 fish and let it thaw in warm water and feed twice a week, once a week would even be fine looking at its size.

What lighting are you running? And for how long?

The accepted ratio as required by sps is 3 :1. Thus meaning if Ca is 420 then Mg should be 1260. Yes Mg will stun some algae however running Orca Bio Cubes will have better results. Thats a total new discussion.

Dont do that! I have found that Bubble tips like a high Ph 8.17-8.20 and found my ones preferred this according to my tank parameters. i have 2 of them and watched when the ph was low they looked similar to yours! i also noticed that during this stressful stage high intensity light is not so great for them maybe turn the Led down a bit or consider just running blue tubes if any! they dont like salinity changes so make sure your salinity stable

As far as feeding goes they do not 100% have to eat, however if you want them to grow then feed them but only when they are not stressed.
