    Hi all

I have a 1200l system, its been running for 6 months.
The lr and sand is from my previous system which was
Running for 2 years. I have a dsb with chaeto, phosphate reactor,
Kalk stirrer, and an aquamedic 3000 skimmer. I have 4 T8's with
160w of led cree lights (rapid led).

I bought a large gbta 2 weeks ago, it has excellent green colouring,
With a purple base. I placed it in the tank, it was hiding for 2 to 3 days,
Came out a bit, and opened up for a couple of days. It was touching
My frog spwan, so I moved the frog spawn the next day. I fed it twice, it ate well.
I was away for 3 days, and when I came back I noticed tears on its side, 3. White incides its seems comming out.
Its deflated and most likely dying...

Any help? What could have caused it? All parameters are fine.
Cleaner shrimps are hanging around it most of the time.
And I only have reef save fish????!!!

Please help, should I suck it out or give it a chance?

My wifes parents took it with on holiday. The describe it better:
The foot is attached to the rock, the base (part between foot and tentacles) has the tears in.
2-3 cms long white strandy cuts...

    And they are ???

Also, what other inverts do you have - any crabs, lobsters, etc...

It is, of course possible that the frog spawn could have burned the anemone Frog spawns have very long "fighting tentacles" which only extends at certain times (usually at night), and anemones have low metabolisms - it is quite possible that the nennie could only show the damage after a few days, once infection has set in.

where is your heater? in the sump or the tank? is there anything sharp (eg:eggcrate) that the anemone could have brushed up against?

Thank you Hennie and Leslie for the advice. Unfortunately the nennie died...
I don't think it was the frogspwan, or any other organism in the tank. it mostlikely got hurt when the petshop assistent put it
In the plastic bag, or maby when I took it out of the bag. I normally don't mix petshop water with my tank water, and it
Might be that the anemone got hurt when I took it out of the bag, as I said is was a large anemone.

    Thank you.

How did you acclimate the anemone? As Hennie said, the frogspawn may have been the cause. The anemone may have also been splitting. They can look pretty bad when they do this.
