    hi all I am whanting to get a long spine urchin for my fowler tank it is a standerd 4 ft tank with a 3ft sump can anyone tell me if this is big enough for one and how much bioload they produce? thanks

    I have one in my 130l nano for the last two years with no probs, the do like coralline algae though.

    So true, they dont have issues. I do know they strip the lr of anything trying from embrio to grow. So if you planned coraline you gonna battle unless you have loads already. But on your tank size there should be plenty to graze on.

    That tank is fine, make sure rocks are well placed, because urchins are like bulldozers. Also they require loads of algaes etc else the fade away.

    Hi, your tank is plenty big enough and they do not add a lot to the bioload. You just need to be careful when working in the tank as the tips of their spines are extremely sharp and if you get pricked it really really really stings, a lot. :p
