As I am experiencing loads of algae in my display tank I had a up flow ATS built.

The tank is small so this scrubber fits inside the sump against the glass. Light on the outside of the sump.

From what I have read this should help remove algae from the display after about 3 cleanings of fully packed algae from the screen. Think it will tank about 10 weeks.

Using a 10w floodlight on for 8 hours the first week. Then 16 hours from week 2.

Not much to show for the 1st 10 days. Increased light from 8 hours to 13 hours on Tuesday.

Screen just looks a bit dirty so there was no need to clean it.

I Would personaly change that 10W Flood light out for a Hydroponic Grow light.

I used to Run a Flood over My Chaeto, Never got insane growth with it, just kept it alive.

I Then Changed to a Grow light and the growth on Cheato or Algae is insane

Sorry to hijack the threat. Is there a specific hydroponic grow light you can recommend?

Hi, Are you using this on refugium or algae scrubber?

Wondering how bad the light spill is? or how do you block light from skimmer and only keep light on the fuge.

Got a Big Sump. So Light Spil not an Issue. But You Can Just Cover the Sides and lower the Light to minimize Light Spill

Looks great and much cheaper than actual fuge lights and in theory way better than a 20w LED floodlight. Never got good growth with them.

Was looking at the zetlight fuge e200 and its not cheap. so this seems like a really good option.

Yes it came free with frags I bought:(

Don’t temp me I might just do a swop.

Anyhow I am not prepared to order from overseas. 60 or more days to wait.

Just going to get a 30w 6500k led flood light in town.

i hope you do come right though , have you tried flucon? it really helped me.
another thing , even though you might consider the light thing i would not find it fair my pharos unit is so old . it does do the job though.

Like I mentioned before, 6500k in LEDs are not suitable for algae growth and won’t help. You need red LEDs with a bit of blue.
