This is what ive got in mind. I dont have space in the sump for the roller filter, hence the extra "sump" to fit the filter

That 48cm + 15 cm piece, is it meant to be one with a tank connecter dilled into it or 2? With a gap?

It is one piece with a hole drilled as an overflow to the current sump.

I only have a normal glass cutter, don't know if it will cut any thickness of glass. I'm sure a glass shop will cut the glass for a minimum premium.
