Unknown Skimmer

hi guys i was given this skimmer a while back.... no name niks information.....

It obviously needs some plumming and a pump....

I was toying with setting up a frag tank .... would this do the trick as a skimmer ????

does anyone have this skimmer in action????

What pump should i get or should i throw the whole thing awaay and use the $$ i would have spent on the pump towards a TS1 ????? .... my display tank uses a TS2 and it works like a bomb !!!

Why would you need it in a frag tank? do you intend keeping fish in it? if not then just some filter floss to pick up any bits but there won't be much waste for the skimmer to pick up, unless you overfeed the corals.

Don't you have any pumps you could take off other equipment just to test it? sure it would work!

def macro aqua as stated.. needs a 2000lph needle wheel pump (or at least thats what they come out with).. not a bad skimmer but cannot really handle the 1200 it is said to be rated for id use it on a about a 300lt setup....

Neil - the ReefOcto OTP-2000 costs plus-minus R600...... Depending where you buy. It could be slightly less perhaps...

this skimmer in total costs about R850 just keep that in mind..

i think a 2nd hand TS1 would work better than trying to fix this one up at this stage ... as the cost would be similar i think ....
