    Hi there,

Our Anemone up until today has been a fairly happy one. Last week we had a problem with high salinity which is now sorted and within range. Tested the water day before yesterday and besides from the phosphate and nitrate being high all the parameters were within range. To aleviate the phosphate and nitrate being high, I added the phosphate and nitrate mats to bring it down. The anomone ate very well yesterday but today has deflated and shrunk which now leaves me wondering just what could be the problem. Seems that something is making him very unhappy. Do you think, he is expelling waste or what? or perhaps I have done the wrong thing adding the mats. Any advise would be appreciated.

Also how old is your tank and how long has the Anemone been in the tank.

With your parameters going up and down like that it is bound to affect some of your livestock negatively, although, anemone's occasionally deflate and inflate again to expel waste, it's only been one day so monitor it and see what happens over the course of the day and tomorrow. Pics would definitely help.

Various factors. Like what type of anemone, lights, flow.

How long did you have it?

    How old is the tank?

Any clowns that might irritate it too much? Anemone size in relation to clown size?

Might be that its just pooping.

Just to add onto this thread and close it off. The anemone is doing excellent has split shortly after this and the other half has already formed a mouth and both are extremely happy and close to each other...like brother and sister.
