    hey guys

i need some advice on an underwater camera as requested by a freind of mine.

he is in zanzibar diving(as his job) how lucky is that, he does tours for people of the reefs etc and he decided with his money he wants to get a camera that he can both use outside the water and in.

the problem is that it cant be a dslr as he doesnt know hptogrophy that well and cant carry it with on every dive so a point and shoot is whats needed.

so if anyone has any advice please let me know

    Fugi f80.

I have the fugi F50 with WP housing that has been passed down to ADVdiver. it is brill. But even better, and i bought one, is the F80 EXR. What a camera. 100% functional with the Waterproof housing and it has a double seal on the housing. It also has 1080p HD video. For about R6k with the wp housing, a real good Q outfit.

I have a question, has anyone placed a small camera inside a reef tank?
I found a camera, the size of a lego block, but battery life is 8 hours!!!

I think it would be amazing to have a view from within you tank!!!

Yup we had a few examples at the boat and dive expo at the dome a month back. But the in thing is the GoPro. 170deg lens and in HD. Awesome little bit of kit.

When I was at the red sea ADVdiver had the F50 and I had the F80. we had 3 batteries, so one in each camera and a spare on charge. we did 4 dives a day each and each only changed the battery once. Sounds confusing.

Well the battery will last a day. About 2.5 hours of mixed shooting. The battery IMO is not the issue it is the card size. 32G and you have more than enough.:)

i had a sony unfurtunately it went missing in my dads home and no one knows were it is, i think someone is on drugs...... but anyway what i dont like about sony is that the memory cards are crappy and expensive and the accessories are also expensive. For now ill never go to sony for a camera again.
