We’ve seen some awesome colors in Lobophyllia before, even some which deserved to be called “Rainbow” but none more so than the Lobo recently flaunted by LSS. With its neon green base coloration and splashes of orange, pink and bluish purple, LSS’s Rainbow Lobo is on a crazy coral color level rivaled on;y by recent imports of amazing chalice corals. Although we’ve seen all of these colors in branching species of*Lobophyllia*before, most of those had concentric patterns and beautiful outlines but the Lobo specimen in focus has random splashes of color evenly distributed throughout its mantle, looking every bit like it came from the same colorist as the famous Acid Trip/Melting Pot chalice coral specimen. The Australian-sourced Rainbow Lobophyllia*is also a beautiful coral colony and we can only imagine how much this stunner will set back its future owner, but this one of a kind coral masterpiece is worth every penny. Another close up shot after the break.*[LSS]
