    Hi

I'm need to replace the tyres on my 2.7VVT-i Hilux 2x4, I'm currently running on BF Goodrich A/T 30x9.5-15. They have proven themselves to be good, strong, reliable tyres, and with about 55 000Km and never a puncture, they seem fair wearing, although I do ride with a very heavy foot. A really good feature of them is that they have a 3 ply sidewall, helping eliminate any sidewall damage. I do a fair amount of "offroad" driving as I'm in the construction field, although its not like climbing Everest (but I did go up Sani Pass;)) it does sometime get a little nasty.

I'm also considering the "new" Goodyear Wrangler "AT/SA" 265/75-15 (All terrain / silent Armour) which has a Kevlar composite strip for protection, but after reading up on them some say they have had problems with balancing.

Any comment or thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I'm using Michellin on my bakkie now and quite impressed but used 3 sets of Wranglers never had a problem - 1 set of conti tracs - dissapointed - 1 x pirelli - nice but very soft not long lasting - My opinion my Wranglers were the best value for money and I also do alot gravel travelling but still got like 80K odd km's out of the Goodyears! I heard the ATX Firestones also made a very all round tyre but very noisy on the tar but give over 100K km's

    Just done some homework......

My year hilux was fitted with a 255/70-15.
The new ones now are fitted with 265/70-16

They have increase the size of the tyre, and I've just confirmed with Toyota the drive train is the same, to that now allows me to go with a 31x10.5 but the price difference between the 30x9.5 and the 31x10.5 is about 1K, think it worth it? the 31x10.5 would fill the arches up nicely, also a bit wider:biggrin:
