Hi guys finally decided to sell off my pair of oscars...thus sitting with an empty tank +/- 270 l, identical to my marine tank....having an loong empty wall in my dining room thinking of putting them side by side with one display enclosure (thus would look like one tank) while to "non compatible species" could be housed any ideas on how this could be done using one sum / plumbing system ?

easy, just run two different returns and each overflow dumps into the sump. then you would have space under the one tank for all the other stuff. very cool idea

yeah but if that pump fails you are screwed, and it may be too harsh on that one pump. rather go for two

Dude you could buy a small tank and put it in the middle. Water pumped into one tank, syphoned into the small tank and then syphoned again into the next tank. Overflow is in last tank. Inlet in first tank. Create a refugium in the middle tank.

lol makes me think of Nemo when he was in the tank, everytime he looked at the little girls photo. Your clowns are gonna have nightmares. he he he.
Meaning seeing the lionfish just a few feet away all the time, and not because of your son.

mmm predator tank, that sounds great, just remember to cover all pipes and to cover the top of the tank where the eel will be(they will find any place to jump out)
